Charter of Demands
Demand-1 : Functioning of street lights in every street.
Demand-2 : Spread awareness about various security apps supported by law enforcement and ensure their proper functioning.
Demand-3 : Increased police patrolling. Each patrol car must have female personnel.
Demand-4 : Reduce the gender gap in law enforcement by recruiting more female personnel. This can be accomplished through the utilization of the Nirbhaya fund.
Demand-5 : Shorter response times when a call to the emergency service, 100, is made. The responders must be on call until a team reaches the distress site.
Demand-6 : Public transportation such as buses, metros, trains must have tamper proof CCTV cameras and distress alarms.
Demand-7 : Police personnel must be present in public transportation from 5:30PM to 7:30AM.
Demand-8 : Safe and hygienic public restrooms for women.
Demand-9 : Strict enforcement of the Anti-Sexual harassment laws across all organizations. The employers must be held accountable if lapses in the implementation of the law are determined. Ensure that Saksham committee guidelines for educational institutions are adhered to.
Demand-10 : Gender sensitization trainings and workshops must be conducted at regular intervals by the employer. It must be made mandatory for every employee. Special focus must be given to the sensitization training provided to the police personnel.
Demand-11 : Every woman must be self-reliant and empowered enough to protect herself. It is mandatory that the employer provides self-defense classes.
Demand-12 : For female employees staying late, organizations must provide transportation with properly vetted security personnel. Rigorous and regular background checks must be performed for each individual working in private security firms. Female drivers and security personnel should be also be encouraged.
Demand-13 : All workplaces should have a safe and hygienic creche facility, nursing rooms and sick rooms.
